Abstract

Parents are teamed with behavioral support specialists, and they conducted the functional behavioral assessment on disruptive behaviors of the target child. Then, the mother implement multi-component behavior intervention including antecedent intervention, alternative behavior intervention, and consequence intervention. As a result of the study, the disruptive behaviors were decreased and the participation behaviors increased. These changes have been sustained after termination of the intervention, and generalized also in home learning with the father. The results suggest that when parents and behavioral support specialists are teamed up to assess the functioning of problem behaviors in the daily routine of child autism spectrum disorder, and on that basis, the mother intervenes directly in their daily lives, the behavior of children with autism spectrum disorder will change positively and be effective in its maintenance and generalization.
